the one with qada and qadar

i was contemplating to go on a getaway with abby to seoul (soul of asia hehe)end of this year and had planning for that since last year.. oh how i want to visit all the interesting places there(i especially want to go to itaewon, seoul tower, myeondong and dongdaemun eat halal kimchi and maybe head to jeju island
hihi)..maybe bumped into one or two of my fav artists hehe..
but i am pretty sure it is not going to happen in the near future..well, you know the common reasons of it falling apart lah; $$, time, commitment and my ibu nagging about my plans for foreign places..
i called abby up while at work yesterday and mentioned about bandung.. then she said maybe we should opt for something more adventurous like cambodia..
rupa²nya our conversation was overheard by one of the officers..he asked me where am i going and i told him lah.. he asked why would i want to go to those places.. what happened if i got was abducted, killed,etc? well i do understand the risk i woud put myself into if i do go to cambodia but i think bandung is pretty safe lah kan? anyways, i replied him by saying if it’s happens, it happens (those bad things) dah ketentuan kan..the he answered..if you have the time to avoid it, then why wont u?..
that got me into thinking and it kinda bothered me then.. so if i took all the time i have to avoid it, i mihgt not be doing a lot of things then.. then again,if i say it’s gonna happen if it happens, then i redha..
i asked about this to one other officer that i always turn to when i wanted a islamic point of view.. this is what he advised me;
it is true and the right thing to do that we should try and put efforts to avoid bad things from happening to us.. and if it is written in qada’ and qadar that it is going to happen to us one day, then we have tried our best to avoid it while we can and when it does happen then we should ‘redha’ and never blame the ketentuan from Allah s.w.t..
and he also advised me it is not really suitable to answer “kalau dah ketentuan nak buat macam mana..” because in a way it means that we are blaming what is written for us..
well, that sheds some light on that issue (at least for me ) and i think i have a better view and better understanding of qada’ and qadar now.. and now i understand why i was asked “if you have the time to avoid it, then why wont u?”… (terima kasih en izzat for the advise and terima kasih en azmi for being concern)
so now the plan is.. to go on and save for the trip (not sure where we going yet la .. hehehe..suggestions anyone??) and pray that everything goes well and we’ll be safe to and fro.. insyaAllah~
